Wow! Never afraid to try something new — Jo brings energy ⚡and a can-do spirit 💪 to everything she does.
What made you want to start CrossFit?
Crossfit was recommended to me by my fab physio who treated a broken left arm injury for me but recognised that I needed so much more. He recommended Crossfit to me: "I think this` ll be good for you"
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I`ve been coming for 14 months now, starting with twice a week but now coming more often.
What`s your favourite thing about CrossFit?
The Crossfit Durnovaria `family` are what makes it so special. I have been made to feel so welcome, encouraged to push myself beyond anything I thought I would be able to do by the coaches and members. I`ve never walked away after a session feeling like I`ve failed.
What do you love about our box?
I love how the coaches encourage good technique and form, scaling the workouts for me so that I can still make progress and see a way to achieve what seemed impossible at first.
There is also something really special about the friendship, support and laughter.
What would you say to others that were considering trying CrossFit?

She has already completed three Hyrox events and has her fourth competition lined up for May. She has competed both as a solo athlete and as part of a pair alongside her twin sister.

“I LOVE HYROX style classes because it is a combination of cardio and weights. The workouts are varied, and there’s never an opportunity to get bored. Ultimately, the workouts are a bit longer than a CrossFit-style workout, but that’s what I love about it! They’re fantastic workouts and a healthy way to build your engine. Even if the thought of a competition is scary, there’s no pressure to even think that far ahead. Just enjoy the classes and have a feeling of accomplishment.”
